From July 2018 to March 2020 I had the honor of working as Operations Specialist for this staple Bay Area apparel brand. Oaklandish has a long standing record, and bestowed great knowledge during this time. It was my privilege to work in web shop management, fulfillment, and customer service, for the family of brands:

Oaklandish  /  Oakland Roots Soccer Club  /  BOSK  /  Oak Supply Co.  /  Beast Mode
As Ops Specialist, I was of course responsible for your typical web shop management, but there were a few curve balls thrown in the mix. This was my first time working to build an eComm site with third-party product. In every previous instance, product was all in-house, with assets provided in a consistent manner/orientation, and on-schedule with release. But when you are responsible for sourcing product shots from vendor websites (sometimes for past season goods), things can get a bit tricky.
In addition to these hurdles, our system was intentionally set up for over-selling. This was all new to me, and definitely a valuable competitive advantage for Oaklandish. Allowing overselling offered print-to-order capability for customers, and minimized the possibility of overproducing product for storage within minimal warehouse space.
At Oaklandish, I grew fond of the BrightPearl warehousing platform used to track sales end-to-end, for each brick and mortar location and each eComm channel. With a total of 5 shops between 3 brands, items may be sold online while currently being on display in-store. This caused the repeated headache of not being able to fulfill orders for product N/A, because it the unit was incorrectly counted or sold over the counter, perviously.

Team work made the dream work!
